Get To Know Me

I’m a Computer Engineering Master’s student at the University of Stuttgart/Germany. I graduated from the German Jordanian University (GJU) with a Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering. Currently, I work as a research assistant at the Institute for Architecture of Application Systems (IAAS) as a Software Designer and Developer.

My passion for technology started the moment I saw a computer for the first time in my life. This passion has been always escalating especially with the continuous advancement and excitement of software and product design.

I love beautiful design, well-engineered products, geeks’ communities and cooking :)

My Education

My passion for building and hacking things led me to studying Mechatronics Engineering for my Bachelor’s degree. The integration of Mechanical and Electronic systems combined with the ability to control such systems using control and software theories helped me build a great foundation to understanding how a well-engineered product should be developed.

During my internships and projects I’ve worked on in my Bachelor’s studies, I’ve gained considerable understanding to the importance of computer systems and how they can transform our products to a whole new level, and I’ve realized that this field suits me best due to its agility and challenging nature. As a result, I’ve decided to pursue my Master’s studies in Computer Engineering to enrich my knowledge in this field.

In the past two years, I’ve started from the ground up; trying to learn every essential in computer science on my own while excelling in global trends in software engineering; this led to the decision of specializing in Distributed Software Architecture combined with studies in Human-Computer Interaction, and Business and Technology Management.

What I Do

For the past seven years, I’ve been involved in many projects and roles, from software and hardware development to leading projects and teams. These experiences helped me improve my technical and behavioral skills especially in the field of software engineering. What amazed me the most when building these projects is how professors, managers and most importantly customers are happy when completing a project to their needs. I’ve then realized that I have great passion for products including their analysis, definition and user-centered design. In addition to that, having completed courses in technology and business management helped me understand product markets and strategize their success.

My interests have been developed to include multi-disciplinary design, software engineering, and product management.

my Employment

Software Engineer - Research Assistant

IAAS institute/University of Stuttgart - Germany

As a research assistant, I was involved in the design and development of management components that leverage the capabilities of OASIS TOSCA specifications to automate the management and deployment of cloud applications across their overall lifecycle. This ensures portability of applications and services across different cloud infrastructures and reduce their overall management cost.

Software Engineer - Part Time

DAIMLER AG/Mercedes Benz - Germany
JAN 2013 - NOV 2013

I was in charge of the design and implementation of optimization methods for efficient testing processes of product lines in automotive industries. This included the design and programming of heuristic algorithms to achieve 90% optimization in requirement-test coverage.

Software Engineer - Part Time

SAM Engineering - Jordan
FEB 2012 - SEP 2012

I was in charge of the algorithm design and implementation of A wells' automation system for the DISI project; the largest water conveyance system in Jordan which serves three million people daily.

Software Engineer - Internship

Texas Instruments - Germany
MAR 2011 - AUG 2011

I was in charge of the implementation of Distributed Clocks algorithms of Beckhof's EtherCAT communication protocol on Texas Instruments microprocessors, this led to a synchronization level of 8 nanoseconds difference between involved nodes.

my education

MSc – Computer Hardware and Software Engineering

University of Stuttgart
2012 - 2014

Majored in Distributed Software Architecture and Engineering combined with studies in Human-Computer Interaction, Business and Technology Management.

BSc – Mechatronics Engineering

German Jordanian University
2007 - 2012

My course included studying the design and development of multi-disciplinary systems which are controlled using computer and control theories, e.g. Robotics.
